Thank you South Sac Coalition for the support of our Third Thursday Art Walk on July 16! We had several neighbors and members of the community arrive with their young children. Together, we created a beautiful banner that will be displayed at each Art Walk event. Thank you Amy Reed for leading the workshop and providing youth with the materials.
What a wonderful event ... more than 40 youth and adults were present at the library’s community room and many participated in the art workshop. It was great to see so many of you there and I’m happy you had a good time. The live music was amazing ... thank you to the Dead Scott Band and singer/songwriter Mirahaizza Galuego for their talented performances. Everyone enjoyed your music and many, including me, would purchase CDs from you!
Thank you Kiki Vo for displaying and selling your jewelry art. I’m glad you sold some beautiful necklaces and earrings. Looking forward to seeing more next month!
Thank you to the youth who ran the face painting table. Next month, I may actually get my face painted as well.
Special thanks to Andrea Porras and Alona Jennings for planning the logistics and making the event run so smoothly. Thank you Dell Richards for promoting our event to local media. The morning of the event I was interviewed by Univision-19, and then at the event KCRA-3 arrived to interview a couple of our youth and film it.
Please remember that this event will occur every month ... the next one is scheduled for Aug. 20 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Library!
Let’s continue to support our youth in South Sac and help them keep a safe place where they can learn and express themselves through art and music!
